Villarreal CF strengthens its B team with Hugo López
Villarreal CF has announced the incorporation of Hugo López, a 19-year-old young forward, loaned from the club until the end of the 2026/27 season. López arrives in the Principality after playing 36 games in the First Federation with the yellow subsidiary last season.
Why is it important for Villarreal CF?
The incorporation of López is a bet by the club for young, technical and growth-oriented footballers. The forward stands out for his technical quality, game vision and ability to generate danger near the rival area.
What comes next?
López will join the tricolor team a few days before the official start of the season. With his incorporation, Villarreal CF adds a new piece to the offensive parcel of Carles Manso.
The forward has had a standout summer, as he was proclaimed champion of Europe sub-19 with the Spanish selection. Now, he will face his first experience in Second Division.
Villarreal CF continues to reinforce its team before the start of the competition. The 2025/26 season ended with the club in third position in the League, with 61 points, 19 wins, 4 draws and 8 losses in 31 games. The team has scored 56 goals and received 36 in the current season. The club is 18 points behind the leaders of the championship, Barcelona.
Currently, the team is without some of its key players, such as Ayoze Pérez, Willy Kambwala, Denis Suárez Fernández, Diego Conde and Gerard Moreno, who are injured.
