Villarreal CF has marked the date of return to work. The first yellow squad will start the 2026/27 preseason on Monday, July 6, when the players will begin to undergo the necessary medical tests after the vacation period. The recognitions will be extended over the next two days (7 and 8 July), before the ball returns to roll in the José Manuel Llaneza Sports City. It will be the first step of a preseason especially relevant for the Submarine, not only for the team's return to the Champions League, but also for the start of a new sporting era. Íñigo Pérez, newly arrived at the Villarreal bench, will direct his first training session on Thursday, July 9, at a time still to be determined, in a session that will officially open his cycle at the helm of the yellow team. The return to work will mark the start of the new yellow project. After a season marked by European qualification and a change of direction in the bench, Villarreal will start in July a preparation key to assimilating concepts, adjusting the squad and putting the competitive bases of a demanding course. Íñigo Pérez will have his first days to take contact with the group, know the physical condition of his players and start to transfer his game idea. The new coach will face a preseason with a double objective: prepare the team for the start of LaLiga and arrive with guarantees at the club's return to the highest continental competition. In this context, the first days will be focused on physical, medical and performance tests, before gradually increasing the training load. The José Manuel Llaneza Sports City will once again become the main stage of the yellow preseason.
