Villarreal CF increases Mikautadze's release clause

Villarreal CF has increased the release clause of Georges Mikautadze, the team's forward, to 75 million euros in the last ten days of the transfer window. This measure aims to protect the club from possible offers for the player in the last part of the transfer window.

The release clause of Mikautadze has increased by 15 million euros in the last ten days of the transfer window. This makes it more difficult for a club to acquire the player without negotiating with Villarreal CF.

Georges Mikautadze, Villarreal CF forward, joined the team in the summer of 2025 from Olympique Lyonnais. The club paid 30 million euros for his transfer, with the possibility of reaching 36 million euros through additional clauses.

Mikautadze signed a contract with Villarreal CF until June 2031, which means that the club does not have pressure regarding the duration of his contract. The current release clause already doubles the initial investment and, in the last ten days of the transfer window, it will increase by 15 million euros over the 60 million euros release clause.

Last season, Mikautadze became the top scorer of the season in Castellón with 15 goals in all competitions. In LaLiga, he scored 13 goals and gave 6 assists, contributing directly to 19 goals.

Villarreal CF has not received offers for the player until now and there is no communication from his representation requesting consideration for a departure.

The situation of Mikautadze is similar to that of other key players in the team. Pape Gueye, for example, attracted the attention of Everton in the summer, but there has been no formal offer for Villarreal CF.

Despite the fact that the transfer market can change in its last days, Villarreal CF maintains control over the contractual future of Mikautadze. If any club tries to attract Mikautadze in the last ten days of the transfer window, they will need to handle a 75 million euros release clause or persuade Villarreal CF to initiate negotiations for his departure.
